I found that the heated Endless Pool was the perfect place to continue my rehabilitation after having two knee replacements done overseas. Hydrotherapy had been a mandatory requirement after each of the knee operations.
The Endless Pools are ideal for very low impact exercises and as they are designed for one person per pool, they have the added privacy that is not available in public pools.
The deeper pool is ideally suited to aqua-jogging, and the ledges and grab bars in the pool are excellent for a variety of relevant exercises.
Later on when I had to have back surgery, the Endless Pool, along with help from the Rec Centre consultants, again helped me get back into shape quickly.
Whilst I no longer need the pool for therapeutic reasons, it has become an enjoyable part of my daily routine, to which I now add swimming against the variable current – another feature of these pools.
